During my year, I have.....
.....explored my creativity
.....taken to the skies
.....conquered my fears (or not, you damned spider!)
.....permanently altered my appearance
.....communed with nature
.....nurtured new talents
.....got fit (and then unfit again)
.....laughed ....a lot
.....dipped my toe into the murky world of crime
.....discovered a love of writing
.....learnt not to say 'no' when 'yes' is more fun
.....tasted adrenalin .... and liked it
.....walked round London in my underwear
.....been eaten alive
.....marvelled at the wonder of nature
.....been spiritually awakened
.....been cold - very cold!
.....experienced and loved the high life (The Ritz!)
.....experienced and loved the not-so-high life (the dogs!)
.....been culturally educated and enlightened
.....risked my life
.....stripped
.....performed to an audience
.....opened my eyes
.....rekindled old friendships
.....counted my many blessings
.....relived my youth
.....embarrassed my children (I apologise)
.....bankrupted my husband (I apologise again)
.....lost some dear friends (Luke and Lynn, you are in my thoughts)
but I have still NEVER.....
.....seen the Sound of Music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done to the one person (whoever you are) whom I failed to deceive. £10 is winging its way to charity on your behalf. Thank you to my lovely friends, Lorraine, Ruth and Tracy, who donned wimples and habits in the West End for no reason at all, and who played along magnificently with my ruse. And just for the record I would rather have my teeth pulled out without anaesthetic, than watch the Sound of Music!!!!
A final THANK YOU to all of you who accompanied me, encouraged me, supported me, laughed with me, drank with me, despaired of me, lied with me, paid for me (Iain!) on this wonderful journey. I hope along the way I have inspired you all to challenge yourselves, to follow your dreams, to say yes, and not to put off till tomorrow what you can do today.
